Favorite Apps // Winter 2018

FavoriteAppsGraphic.jpg

Welcome back everyone, and happy New Year! Today I am showing you all my favorite apps I have found recently, and over the past couple of years. Ranging from organization, to food, I break it down to what I use them for, and why they are game changers. To see what's on my list, just keep scrolling!

1. WUNDERLIST

This app is the newest in my list, but also my top favorite. For the past couple of years I have struggled with the way that I plan out everything I need to do, and honestly just anything that comes to my mind in general. I've tried everything - paper planners, the "to-do" list app thing that already comes on the iPhone, and even just mentally making lists (I highly recommend not doing this), but nothing seemed to stick. That is, until I found Wunderlist. Above I am inserting screenshots to display what your "home page" will look like. You can see I have a lot of folders, and will most likely be adding more throughout the year. One of the cool things about this app is you can customize the color, but the real winner for me is that you can make lists, folders, and lists WITHIN folders!! That's right guys, I have shown you the answer to all of your organizational dreams. You're welcome.

* If you're wondering what "List Vomit" is, keep reading. Lol.*

Here I am showing the inside of my "Everyday To-Dos" list. This is where I jot down what my current day has in store, and I what's cool is I have the option of simply dragging listed items out AND dropping them into other lists. This is where "List Vomit" comes in. Throughout my day, I am constantly remembering things that I need to do, or need to get, so I just throw them in "List Vomit". Then, at the end of the day, I go to this list and move everything around into their respective places. It's a carefully thought out and ingenious process if I do say so myself.

Below is a screenshot of what clicking on one of your list items looks like. Another amazing thing about Wunderlist is being able to add comments on individual items. For example, I am showing you my Blog Post to-do. In it I have put the title of what post I'm creating that day, and I can also add "subtasks" like take photos, create graphics, etc.

Basically:

WHAT DO I USE IT FOR?

- All my lists: quick to-do's, far off to-dos, groceries, books to read, wedding planning, etc.

WHY IT'S A GAME CHANGER
- Going digital = less clutter
- Streamlined through all my devices
- Lists within folders

2. GOOGLE CALENDAR

This one is an old favorite, Google Calendar. I'm just going to cut right to the chase, Apple's Calendar is the worst. I can't stand it. It's plain, you can't see anything quickly, and since I have a Blackberry as well - I can't use it on all my devices. What's great about this app is right when you open, everything you have coming up is right there in your face. You can also color coordinate all of your usual activities, so that you don't even need to look at it for too long without knowing you have a doctors appointment coming up because you have those set to blue. For example, I have wedding planning in purple, workouts in grey, and days off in pink. But, if you're not a fan of month views, you can also switch to other options! Go download this now, and you can thank me later.

*PS for all you checking out my January schedule, NO I'm not pregnant lol. The ultrasound is for other medical check ups. MOVE ALONG*

Basically:

WHAT DO I USE IT FOR?
- Day to day visual schedule

WHY IT'S A GAME CHANGER
- Can see everything from month view
- Streamlined through all my devices
- Color labels

3. INSTASIZE

IMG_8700.PNG

One of my favorite finds of 2017, Instasize. I had originally downloaded this app for it's actual purpose, to resize my photos lol. I soon realized I could actually use it in other ways that would really help me up my Instagram game. For those of you who care about how your feed is presented (because believe me I know it's honestly ridiculous to in the first place), this is the app for you. I upload my photos here first, this way I can make sure everything looks cohesive, and flows nicely. From a business standpoint, people without even thinking about it, will judge your brand based off how your feed looks, so I like to make sure mine represents kelyn. well.

Basically:

WHAT DO I USE IT FOR?
- To see my feed before posting on Instagram

WHY IT'S A GAME CHANGER
- Great for social media businesses
- Also a place to resize photos

4. TACO BELL

IMG_8701.PNG

Now I hope by now, if you know me, you would expect nothing less than this app being on my favorites list. And yes, this time I have saved the best for last - Taco Bell. In the 2+ years I have been vegan, Mexican food has probably been the easiest thing for me to eat (yes I know Taco Bell isn't traditional Mexican, but like beans, rice, and guacamole is what I mean). Chad is actually the person that introduced me to this magical app, and all it's potential. When I make my orders, I obviously have a lot of requests for things to be left off, added, changed, etc. which leaves room for errors. Now, not all rogue shreds of cheese can be avoided, but the app definitely makes it easier. I plug in everything I want, and can either pick my order up at the counter, or through the drive thru. You can also find locations near you, create your "My Bell" for quick ordering, and also check out the newest menu item!

Basically:

WHAT DO I USE IT FOR?
- Preordering my food
- Locating stores

WHY IT'S A GAME CHANGER
- Makes ordering vegan or vegetarian much easier
