EVERYDAY-NESS

Since getting rid of most of my makeup collection (donating all that is/has been tested on animals), it has been much easier for me to find things that I honestly enjoy using and work best for me. Today I bring you guys the current contents of my makeup bag.
Let's start with the base. Depending on what I'm feeling that day, one of two things could happen - BB cream or foundation. When I'm having days where I want minimal coverage I pick up the Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer - $36 on Tarte. I love this product because I have no issues with it and my oily tendencies - even when I apply with clean hands. It provides just the right amount of coverage all awhile being oil-free, full of antioxidants (great for acne prone skin), and has an SPF of 20. Every so often, I want a little more coverage so I'll pick up on the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation - $40 on Ulta. I am currently using shade 3.0, but I do own this in a lighter and darker shade as well. I have been using this foundation for about 4 years now and I still love it as much as I did the first time I used it. Providing medium, build-able coverage it has a virtually weightless feeling on the skin with a demi-matte finish. I typically will apply two layers using a dense foundation brush.
Now let me introduce you to my best friend, my pride and joy, my ride or die, the Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer - $23 on Tarte. This stuff has CHANGED my life. I've always used concealers but it was just something I did and never really thought much about, until this product came into my world. It provides full coverage, great for spot concealing, but I can also use it under my eyes. Yes I know. I'll give you a second to let that sink in. For my friends out there that are maybe new to the world of makeup, that is very hard to find. This product lasts my entire work day, and it doesn't cake under my eyes. When I apply it, I usually will let it sit for a minute and then blend in all over with my finger. I find that this lets the product get slightly tacky which gives me the best coverage.
When it comes to bronzer and blush, let's just say it's been a lot of trial and error on my part. I do believe I have been able to finally narrow down what does and doesn't work for me and my, in my opinion, weird coloring (lol). Currently, the NARS Blush in Madly - $30 on NARS has hands down been one of my favorite discoveries of 2015. The 'warm soft-focus seashell pink' shade has been perfect for bringing color back to my skin without enhancing the redness that I already have on my face. As for bronzer.... I am still on the hunt for the perfect one. When rummaging through what I already own, the Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bonzer - $30 on Tarte is next on my list of Things I Need to Use Up Before I Buy Another Thing. It does have a great neutral tone (great for warming up the face and contouring), but I do wish it was a little more pigmented. It's not a bad bronzer -  I'm just picky.
Now, I am new to the world of highlighting. Up until about 5 months ago the thought of it has terrified me. Since I have been able to tame my oily-ness - I too can now be the glimmering disco ball God has always intended. Currently, I'm using the Becca Simmering Skin Perfector in Opal - $38 on Sephora. I love this product because it catches light perfectly, without sitting on top of the skin. It truly does enhance your natural features. I apply mine on the tops of my cheekbones, tip of my nose, and all over my lips (yes all over them). I can also use it an eyeshadow.
As for the eyes I typically like to keep it pretty simple. First, I always use my Glossier Boy Brow in Blonde - $16 on Glossier . I have reviewed this product on a previous post here! I then pick up on the Bare Minerals READY Eyeshadow 4.0 in The Rare Find - $39 on Amazon. I'll be honest I used to look over this quad for the longest time until I went on a trip and wanted a small palette for traveling purposes. I was pleasantly surprised because this thing has everything I need. I use the mid-tone brown shade in the crease and the gold (great for blue eyes) all over the lid and I'm good to go. For nights out I use the green shadow to smoke out the previous look and that's it. For liner I will only use the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper - $19 on Sephora. Pretty simple. It is super easy to wing out and dries to a matte black (I can NOT stand shiny eyeliner). On my bottom water line I like to put a nude liner to help open up my eyes. The NYX Wonder Pencil - $4.50 on NYX does a decent job for the price, but I will probably not repurchase. I find that it isn't very pigmented and doesn't last long. As for lashes, Tartes Lights Camera Lashes Mascara - $21 on Tarte has been my absolute favorite. It provides length, curl, and volume all without transferring onto my skin throughout the day. It also comes off super easily with my regular cleanser.
Well that's it guys. A peak into what I put on my face on the daily. I'm sure it will change next month lol. Until next time, everyone have a great weekend!
