Strikes Back "Yeah No For Sure" Release Show // Oct. 14th, 2016
Sitting here at my computer, and I've probably retyped this opening sentence AT LEAST five times. SO, I've decided I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Strikes Back, a four piece band straight out of St. Louis. I don't know if any of you get this question a lot, but my mom will always ask me how to describe a band, and their style of music. I usually will respond with some variation of an exhale and an eye roll, but Strikes Back makes it easy. St. Louis Style Pop Punk. I love this because it gives a sense of nostalgia and pride to be from somewhere that is home to some incredible bands, and they aren't afraid to say it.
After releasing two singles last year, No Warranty On Love and Disappointment Me, Strikes Back debuted their first EP, Yeah No For Sure, at Cicero's this past month. The location was somewhat of a happy coincidence, as that is the same venue they played their first show at just under a year ago. Luckily, I had the privilege of shooting this, and I hope my photos do justice in showing how awesome the night was. The show kicked off their tour with Hold Close, which included dates in Columbia, MO, Lawrence and Hutchinson, KS, Colorado Springs, CO, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK, and ending tomorrow night at 'That's So Sick Fest' in Tupelo, MS.
I will be honest, I didn't shoot these pictures RAW, which I don't necessarily regret because it adds some character, but it definitely would've made the editing experience a little easier. Because of that though, I have decided to pull the trigger and update my camera so I have one that performs better at a higher ISO. You've done good t5i, but it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Take a look at some of my favorite shots from the night, and as always a link to the full gallery is at the bottom of this post! Don't forget to leave me a comment, share this post, and check out Strikes Back's EP, Yeah No For Sure, available for download on all platforms, and streaming on Spotify now!
